Chaos has never been more fun than at the Oyster Bar. Packed to the gills at lunch and dinner daily, this Grand Central Station icon is one of the best places to gorge on all sorts of seafood. The room makes you feel as though you have gone back in time, with vaulted subway-tiled ceilings and waiters who have been working here since Nixon was in the White House. As for the grub, there are more than two dozen varieties of oysters to choose from, as well as all sorts of chowders, fish sandwiches, fish entrées, and, well, you get the idea. If it swims or even sits in water, it’s on the menu. If you’re on the run, don’t worry: grab a seat at the bar or at one of the old-fashioned lunch counters for a quick lunch.
