At this subterranean hideaway in Midtown,
you’ll find one of the most extensive sake
collections in the city, as well as a talented
knife-wielding team of sushi chefs turning
out delicious sashimi. (There is no sushi
here, though, as it is forbidden to serve rice
with sake.) Sakagura is tough to find: You
enter through the lobby of an office building
and follow a small gold sign that points
you toward this buried basement space. The
hunt is worth it.
